Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken

This Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken is a quick and easy dinner recipe that’s perfect for weeknights. Juicy chicken breasts are pan-seared and then simmered in a rich, creamy garlic Parmesan sauce. Serve over pasta, rice, or with a side of vegetables for a complete meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs chicken cutlets (or breasts sliced thin)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (plus more for garnish)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for sauce)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken cutlets with salt and pepper.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine flour and 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese. Dredge chicken in mixture, shaking off excess.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to scrape up any browned bits. Bring to a simmer.
  6. Stir in the remaining 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese until melted and sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over top, and heat for 2 minutes.
  8. Garnish with additional Parmesan and fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a lighter version, you can use half-and-half instead of heavy cream. The sauce may not be as thick but will still be flavorful.
