Oven-Fried Feta Rolls with Spicy Chili Honey

Crispy, golden phyllo-wrapped feta rolls baked to perfection and drizzled with a sweet and spicy chili honey. A perfect appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz block of high-quality feta cheese, cut into 3-inch long sticks
  • 8 sheets phyllo dough, thawed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • For the Spicy Chili Honey:
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (or to taste)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Lay one phyllo sheet on a clean work surface; brush lightly with melted butter. Top with another phyllo sheet and brush again with butter. Continue stacking to about 4 sheets thick.
  3. Place a feta stick near one end of the stacked phyllo, sprinkle with a few thyme leaves, and roll tightly, tucking in the sides as you go. Brush the seam with butter to seal.
  4. Repeat with remaining feta and phyllo. Place rolls seam-side down on prepared baking sheet.
  5. Brush the top of each roll with remaining melted butter.
  6. Bake for 18-22 minutes, until golden and crisp.
  7. While rolls bake, prepare the spicy chili honey: In a small saucepan, combine honey, red pepper flakes, and apple cider vinegar. Warm over low heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
  8. Serve feta rolls warm drizzled with spicy chili honey.

Notes

For a milder version, reduce the red pepper flakes in the honey. Rolls can be assembled ahead and refrigerated; bake just before serving.
