These elegant crostini feature creamy whipped brie, sweet roasted strawberries, a crack of black pepper, and a hot honey basil drizzle. Perfect for a sophisticated appetizer or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch thick rounds
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 8 ounces brie cheese, rind removed, at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup hot honey
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet. Brush with 2 tablespoons olive oil. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden and crisp. Set aside.
  3. In a bowl, toss strawberries with balsamic vinegar, honey, and remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil. Spread on a baking sheet in a single layer.
  4. Roast strawberries for 15-20 minutes until softened and slightly caramelized. Let cool slightly.
  5. In a food processor, combine brie, heavy cream, and salt. Process until smooth and whipped. Season with black pepper to taste.
  6. Spread whipped brie on each crostini. Top with roasted strawberries.
  7. Drizzle with hot honey and sprinkle with basil. Finish with additional black pepper if desired.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a milder drizzle, use regular honey instead of hot honey. You can also add a pinch of red pepper flakes for extra heat.
